We recently listed and sold a junior one bedroom unit at 450 West Briar in East Lake View for $154,950 (listing price without parking was $159,900).  The building has a great energy and we always ran into nice people. The dog walking crowd is a hoot every morning.  You can't beat the block and location for true Chicago city living.  Check out the video walk-through of the unit and building. A stop at Chicago Sailing

I stopped by Chicago Sailing at 3550 N Recreation Drive, Chicago IL 60657 in Lakeview's Belmont Harbor last week. They are great to work with on charter sailing trips with my clients.  I have also purchased charter boat packages for our school auctions.  Chicago Sailing has a revamped schedule of activities including Thursday sails and wine tasting and summer sailing camp for kids.

 

 

 

A visit to Chicago Sailing in Belmont Harbor

This is what I call an office!  Chicago Sailing HQ in Belmont Harbor is easily accessible by car from the Recreation Drive entrance off LSD... or ride/ walk over!

I stopped by to visit with my friends at Chicago Sailing last week at Belmont Harbor.  Despite the gloomy, rainy September morning it still felt good to be out on the lakefront.  I discussed a couple projects with Director of Fun, Rose Freeman.  I've taken out clients a few times with Chicago Sailing over the years.  They make it easy!

Rose helps me pick out a vessel for an upcoming sailing trip.  I get this look from a lot of people!

Is Ravenswood Close to Belmont Harbor Chicago?

In no way is Ravenswood considered a lakefront neighborhood. However, it certainly has easy access to Lake Michigan. What we don't realize is how quickly you can get to the lake on a bike. Belmont Harbor is about a 20 minute bike ride from any location in the Ravenswood neighborhood.

This weekend we found ourselves sailing out of Belmont Harbor with some friends. I have sailed out of this harbor several times; twice, chartering boats for client trips. Here's a shot pulling out from our slip.

So, we live in Ravenswood to own a larger home with greater parking options... but still easily ride to the lake for an afternoon of sailing.
