We took a good look at the newest public art along the Mag Mile this weekend.  Fifty-one lighthouses are on display along Michigan Avenue this summer.  The Chicago Lighthouse sponsored art features visually impaired and bling artists.  The lighthouses will be auctioned off at the end of their run.  Learn more how to donate and bid here!

Sad,empty Crate and Barrel will become Starbucks mothership

646 North Michigan Avenue was custom built in 1990 for the Crate and Barrel flagship store. Photos Eric Rojas, Broker, Kale Realty
I walked by the the recently closed Crate and Barrel store yesterday at 646 North Michigan Avenue. It is the first time I have been by since it has been vacant.  The world's largest Starbucks coffee store will move in. The world doesn't need another Starbucks but it will probably be pretty cool and I'll patronize. Sigh.
