Lil' Sluggers North Center for a rainy (of freezing) day

The winter has been tough. Luckily in and around North Center there are several options for indoor sports and practice facilities.  Our kids have taken in baseball clinics and private practice time this winter at LilSluggers, 2500 W Bradley Place, Chicago IL 60618.

This large cage rents for about $45.00 and allows for fielding, hitting and pitching. Share with a few kids and it's a great way to get a work-out in.

Share Bear gets in on the act.  My 5yr old hits off the slow pitching machine.

Large practice spaces are available for baseball and football.
Other indoor facilities nearby North Center are The PrivateBank Fire Pitch, 3626 N Talman Chicago IL 60618, Goldfish Swim School, 2630 W Bradley Place, Chicago IL 60618 and McFetridge Sports Center, 3843 N. California, Chicago, IL 60618.  Lots of options in this area alone!

Chase Park "Sports Bash" a home run!

Our almost 4yr old Amalia wins the face-off against the 6yr old boys.  Her brother Ryne is ready just to the left.
We spent last Sunday afternoon at a really great event at Chase Park.  The Back-to-School Sports Bash featured a well rounded schedule of sports and activities.  We Got Game and the Chase Park Advisory Council did an excellent job hosting and running the schedule.

Kickball!
Bouncy obstacle course!

The event featured theater class, face-painting, kids fitness challenges, "Language Stars", scooter skills and more.

Basketball skills and games
Aldermans Ameya Pawar, James Cappleman, Representative Greg Harris, Margaret O'Connor (Vice President Chase Park Advisory Council) and Park Supervisor Katie Fearon-Peon greeted attendees and said a few words.  It's amazing what Chase park has done with programming and community support in the last a few years.
The organizers and elected officials say a few words.

Thanks to all those involved in the Back to School Bash. Our kids are excited to join new sports!
