New photos: Massive former Newark building in Ravenswood gets gut renovation

One wing of the interesting double courtyard building faces the new Lawrence Avenue street-scape.

We wrote about the the construction work at 4801 N Ravenswood Chicago IL 60640 earlier this week.  Here's a few update photos of the massive gut renovation of this vintage industrial building along the well positioned Ravenswood corridor.  Reports suggest the owners are looking to bring in many small start up companies among other tenants. The North Ravenswoods and West Lawrence area is fantastic location to live and work!

Check out the old school smoke stack.  One of the many architectural features that makes the Ravenswood Corridor interesting to look at.

Home sales on Ravenswood from 4400 North block to the 5200 North block

I like to give a little insight on residential housing near any new development we come across in our day to day activities.  I've written about the cool living options on North Ravenswood for many years.  I like the mix of buildings and the several community gardens that line some of the Metra embankments.

Five attached units (condo/ townhouse) have been recorded as sold in our MLS along these eight blocks over the past 12 months. The lowest priced sale is a one bedroom, one bath timber loft unit at 4745 N Ravenswood Unit 408, Chicago IL 60640 for $182,000 (including an outdoor parking space). The highest attached sale is a three beds, two and one-half baths townhouse at 4917 N Ravenswood Unit 10, Chicago IL 60640 for $480,000 (two car attached garage).

Two single family homes sold along this stretch over the past 12 months.  A new construction home at 5064 N Ravenswood sold for $980,000 and a foreclosure house at 5058 N Ravenswood  sold for $415K (land price for development).
