New Boss Same as the Old Boss: Old Town Parking

A shot on Wells Street north of North Avenue in Old Town last Sunday. It's a pretty tough stretch to park and I got my first taste of the new meter rates.
$2.00 an hour on this one.

I only hope that they make new meters that accept dollar bills. If I'm parking for two hours I don't want to have to search my car for 16 quarters. I can't even begin to imagine what it'd be like downtown.

That's the worst part about this whole thing. On Wells, you need 8 quarters for dinner or drinks.

Say you pull up, put your four quarters in for an hour. Drop in the Fireside and your having a good time... you'll have to run out with another four quarters before you know it.

Toughest part as a Realtor is keeping that supply of quarters in the car... no matter how well I prepare at some point I run out at the wrong time.

They need to place the Electronic machines on the sidewalks that take credit cards for payment and then you put the receipt in your window. This is done in other cities. Not sure if Chicago has taken this concept on in other areas, but I haven't seen it.
