Chicago is a city of blocks and not all are created equal. A block can make or break you're quality of life... and owners take that to heart!
The 400 block of West Grant in Lincoln Park offers location, location, location, beautiful trees, a secluded feel... along with choices for any budget. This makes it a great block. Walk to the lakefront parks, train for your marathons along the lake, visit the Lincoln Park Zoo and dine at great spots along Lincoln Avenue. My business partner Bob and I love this block.
"The Portals" shown here offer walk-out terraces in their three bedroom homes usually priced in the $400s.
At the time of this original post back in August, here had been seven condo purchases from $210,000 for a one bedroom unit to $2,275,000 for "everything you want in a condo" on the block in the past year.
Pictured below is a 2006 high end contemporary co-op building positioned in the middle of the block. 432 W Grant #1E, a four bedroom home with recreation room, den, office and three garage spots, sold for $2,275,000 near the end of 2009. We love the wide terraces with modern furniture overlooking the lush landscaping.
