Elysian, Chicago courtyard offers Parisian experience in Gold Coast

The Parisian design and courtyard at Chicago's Elysian Hotel and Private Residences can transplant one to the Élysée Palace itself.  Head down East Walton Street in Chicago's Gold Coast and you'll meet the bustle of the over-sized black Lincoln Navigators and Cadillac Escalades shuffling hotel guests and residences to and from the grand courtyard.  You might think the President of France just arrived.  The upscale block with ornate stone and street lamps is a pleasure.

Walking by the Elysian Chicago on Walton Street reminded me of this photo of my family walking by the Elysee Palace in Paris a few years ago.  I did not get a good shot of the open courtyard gates, but seconds later black sedans came racing in!
