We have a shining for West Belden Avenue in Lincoln Park...and why not? This House of the Week at 851 W Belden is on rare full block of vintage preserved homes in the DePaul neighborhood. There's even a little elbow room on each side of the home I don't have MLS sales information...but who cares? Just visit the street and be transformed to another era!
The former frame Victorian style home located here at 712 W Schubert was bought by a builder in September 2007 for $940,000. and torn down for new construction. We can't help but smell the baking cookies just looking at it! This home faces Jonquil Park and despite being squeezed by larger homes, this lady stands out with ornate window casing, pronounced eaves at the roof and the prettiest doorway on Lill.
Now, this is so Lincoln Park. A converted three flat into a single family home retains it's roots with the red brick and large black painted cornice atop the building. The house pops! I had to stop and take photos on our way to Gene's Sausage Shop. The wide eaves, square pillars, deep porch... check, check and check. This photo does not do justice to the fantastic paint colors, patterns and overall condition of the house.
The home is just a couple blocks north of awesome retail and public festivals and a couple blocks south of Winnemac Park. Good looks and great location, you can't ask for more.
